Introduction to Music
“Intro to Music” is a basic music education class open to all children ages 5-7. Children are exposed to basic elements of music as set forth by historic music educators Carl Orff and Zoltan Kodaly. Through the use of songs and song-games, the children develop a sense of steady rhythm, matching pitch, and movement. Children learn to recognize and respond to differences of pitch and rhythm both aurally and through musical notation…and they also find time to have some fun singing! At the end of the curriculum, the children will be ready to sing with the big kids!
